Yesterday we took the Metro North train up to White Plains to visit the Donald Kendall Sculpture Gardens at the Pepsico headquarters. The air was crisp and spicy, the way it only gets in fall.  We got coffees and Magnolia cupcakes for the train ride, and packed a picnic for the garden.  

It was one of the first weekend days we've had free of obligations or chores to get our new condo in order, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.  

On the ride home we got a few more timelines and lists together in preparation for our wedding this December.

Last night D and I went to the Brooklyn Museum to hear Sanford Biggers, Marcus Samuelsson and Mos Def talk about their work.  They were all fascinating, thoughtful, inspiring and funny.  Sanford Biggers told a story about a defining moment early in his career that moved me to tears because of his earnest intent.
