silence is golden
I realize the content of this blog has sort of switched focus recently- from knitting to other randomness, fashion, and personal stuff. Part of the reason for that is because my knitting for the past month has been solely focused on Upper East Slouches to put in my etsy store. This week, though, I decided to deviate a little from the plan to try out another pattern I've been kicking around. Pictured here are my prototype gaiters, which I may of may not be producing a ton of this spring, depending on my reception by the etsy crowd....

Happiness is... new beauty products
FYI, for anyone interested in makeup:
Yesterday I noticed my coworker rocking some gorgeously long, natural-looking lashes. When I asked her what new mascara she was wearing she told me it was this stuff, which she'd read about in a magazine. The brush and formula gave her excellent individual lash definition, was smudge-proof enough for her to put it on her bottom lashes, and didn't give her the feeling that her lashes were shelaced together. Having long suffered with inferior mascara products, and always up for a drugstore makeup binge, I rushed off to buy myself some. While there, I happily discovered that the mineral makeup craze started by Bare Escentuals seems to have reached the bargain brands. I'd wanted to try this stuff for a while, but didn't really feel like shelling out major cash. Physicians Formula offered the perfect solution for me- their Organic Wear line. I bought their loose powder in beige for $13.95 or something, and tried it today. It coats evenly and feels creamy on, and matches my skin tone perfectly (which never happens)! I'm totally obsessed.

I heart Amy Poehler
I have to admit, that while I was routing for Jillian on the fourth season of Project Runway, in the end I liked Christian's final collection the most. Amy Poehler doing Christian on SNL is hi-larious.

Button Up Cowl FO
I quickly knitted this button-up cowl the other night, using a skein of Debbie Bliss Donegal Tweed Chunky in a lovely Dandelion color. I just added the buttons last night, and I think I'll wear it all weekend! I love it.
I spotted this lovely knit cowl/hood on the Sartorialist's Style.com coverage of Paris fashion week. I love the faded look of the piece, and the way it is both structured and soft-looking.

...wait! I know that face!
Blah. It's been so boring this week at work. I was just catching up on Sartorialist's Style.com blog, daydreaming about working in the fashion industry when I noticed a familiar face! My friend A, who DOES work in the fashion industry, was captured during Paris fashion week. Go, A! You look adorable, as usual.
