What I Wore Today

I've been participating in the Wardrobe Remix flickr pool pretty regularly for six months now, and I've found it to be a very rewarding experience. Not only have I found a new way to infuse a little creativity into my day by coming up with exciting outfits for the group, but I've also made friends and gained awareness of a habit I'm trying to change (new clothes shopping). The folks in the group are all so supportive and offer some terrific advice and inspiration to one another through their creative wardrobe mixing. A few months ago I was approached by Graffito publishing about a book they were putting together about how real women dress- What I Wore Today. They wanted to use a couple of images from my W_R flickr set, and I said it was okay. How excited was I to see it mentioned on one of my favorite blogs just now? Very! I wonder if I actually made it in to the pages of the published product.... Ha. Anyway, I'll be sure to be picking this book up once it's available- I see that one of the most inspiring Wardrobe Remixers, sjwhidden, is featured on the cover! Can't wait to see who else appears inside.

Hmmm. I do hope the book ins't negative, as the tagline might suggest.
It is interesting how some see W_R etc as a bad/vain/downright silly thing to do. Why is fashion seen as so shallow?!

seems like there is a big commotion about the book now!!! i don't know why people treat fashion like this nor belittle it either. everyone wears clothes! and we all know that impressions count and i don't know anyone who doesn't like to look good. i hope the book doesn't shine negative light on us!
