where's the love?

peterwknox: new york street (via Jason Webber) “LA is the loneliest and most brutal of American cities; New York gets god-awful cold in the winter but there’s a feeling of wacky comradeship somewhere in some streets.”- Jack Kerouac, On the Road, Part 1, Ch. 13 That’s what ultimately trumps the bad stuff.

Usually I feel that I have a relationship with New York, but today I just wasn't feeling it. No cute boys on the subway, nobody doing anything shockingly kind or funny or charming. Just a disaffected bunch, myself included. Maybe it really is time to relocate....

You should live where you feel comfortable and happy. You are still going through the "pain". If you are not happy with yourself and the situation, you will not be happy wherever you live. Stick it out a bit Dlittlegarden. Spring and summer will come soon. It takes time. It takes time to heal.
Be strong.

it's been touching to witness you and New York go through the evolving stages of your "relationship." i like that characterization, actually. I feel very much as if I have a close one with my city-- of tenderness, wonder, and comfort.

Chile is nice.
But everyone is a tad bit rude.
